Athlete Biography

Rebecca Henderson will compete at her second Olympic Games when she lines up in Rio. In her Olympic debut and while still in the under 23 ranks, Henderson finished the top 25.

Having won a junior National Championship title every year between 2005-09, she claimed the U-23 Oceania Championships in 2010-11 and went on to secure her debut Olympic berth with three U-23 World Cup podiums in 2012.

She made her Commonwealth Games debut at the 2014 Games in Glasgow where she picked up the bronze medal behind Canada’s Catharine Pendrel Emily Batty.

In the most recent 2015/16 summer season, Henderson won four of the five events of the National Series before winning the Oceania Championships in New Zealand. Soon after she claimed her first ever World Cup podium at the opening round of the series in Cairns when she won bronze against a very strong field.
