Athlete Biography

Training for a marathon with teammate Fiona Albert, Lucy Stephan got the call up for the Rio 2016 Games where she will make her Olympic debut in the women’s eight.

After just missing out with a third place finish at the Final Olympic Qualification Regatta, Stephan and her crew were called up for Rio after the Russian team was removed from the competition.

She won a silver medal at the 2012 U23 World Championships in Trakai, Lithuania in the women’s four. She then went on to win silver at the 2013 World Cup in Lucerne and gold in the women’s four at the U23 World Championships in Linz, Austria.

Stephan has rowed in Australia’s Women’s Eight in 2013, 2014 and 2015.

Lucy is studying a Bachelor of Secondary Teaching/Art.
