Athlete Biography

London Olympian Larrissa Miller will be aiming for an uneven bars or floor final at Rio, after hot competition for Australia’s one female artistic gymnastics spot at Rio.

Miller beat Australia’s top gymnasts including London Olympian Emily Little and dual Olympian Lauren Mitchell at the Australian Championships, which doubled as Rio trials, in May.

Four years ago in London she finished 10th in the Team event, 29th in the bars and 42nd in the floor. The Queensland-born athlete moved to Melbourne after the London 2012 Games to train at Waverley Gymnastics Club.

She made her first floor final at the 2014 World Championships, where she finished a fantastic sixth.

One day after Australia failed to qualify a women’s artistic gymnastics Team for Rio at the Test Event in April Brazil, Miller went on to win silver on the floor just 0.4 points behind Brazil's Saraiva Flavia.
