27-year-old John Millman will make his Olympic debut at Rio in the men’s singles after a strong 2015 and 2016. The Queenslander is world no.65 in singles and reached a career high of 60 in May this year.
Millman turned pro in 2006 after taking up the sport at age four because his four sisters, Shona, Kara, Tessa and Bronte, all played.
The six-foot right-hander, coached by Gary Stickler and Mark Draper, claimed his maiden ITF Futures Pro Circuit singles title in Traralgon in 2008.
He then secured his first Challenger title in Sacramento, USA in 2010, the same year he broke into the world’s top 200.
Millman’s hobbies include going to the movies, music, running, soccer and golf, with his favourite bands The Killers and The Temper Trap.
