Athlete Biography

Jack Rossiter will become one of Australia’s youngest ever shooters to compete at the Olympic Games when the 19-year-old hits the Rio 2016 range.

He broke onto the scene when he claimed both the junior and senior 10m air rifle titles at the 2013 Oceania Championships setting a new finals record score in the process.

At just 17 Rossiter competed at the 2014 Glasgow Commonwealth Games. Contesting the 10m air rifle, Rossiter scored a qualification score of 611.9 to miss the final by just two points and end up claiming tenth.

Rossiter made it back-to-back 10m air rifle titles at the Oceania Championships when he led from start to finish to just hold off Rio 2016 teammate Dane Sampson. In doing so he managed to break his own finals record and secure an Olympic quota in the event for Australia.

Rossiter began 2016 with two gold medals at the Pilzen Grand Prix to highlight his credentials against international competition.
