Athlete Biography

Left handed driver, Isobel Bishop will make her Olympic debut at the 2016 Rio Olympics, after narrowly missing out on the 2012 London Games.

The South Australian born athlete made her international debut in 2009 at the FINA World Junior Championships in Russia, placing seventh. Two years later she won bronze at the 2011 FINA World Junior Championships in Canada.

Bishop won silver with the Stingers at the 2013 FINA World Championships in Barcelona, Spain. The 2015 World University Games in South Korea saw Bishop claim gold, after Australia defeated Canada in the final in a penalty shootout.

A strong start to the 2016 season secured her spot on the Olympic team, helping Australia place third in the FINA World League Super Final in Shanghai, China in June. Australia defeated the host nation 10-3 in the bronze medal match.

She is currently studying a Bachelor of Visual Communications through the University of Technology in Sydney and hopes to have a career in digital design and advertising after her sporting career.
